Surrogate Qualifications
Becoming a gestational surrogate is an incredible, generous, and life-affirming experience to go through. Most surrogates feel a noble calling to help others for whom fertility was not in the cards. Your path starts by filling out our application and meeting with our team. We will make sure that you meet the surrogate criteria recommended by the American Society of Reproductive Medicine (ASRM).
These requirements are:
- Healthy BMI of 33 or less
- Ideal age range is 21 to 38
- No smoking or illicit drug use
- Have had at least one previous, successful pregnancy
- Be currently raising your child(ren) in your home
- Have no history of postpartum depression or mental illness
- Be able to travel as needed for appointments
- Must be a U.S. citizen
- Not on government assistance
- Financially stable living in a safe environment
- Willing to undergo criminal background and medical records check
